Founded by Marine veteran Luis Martinez Jr. and headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Whiskey Valor uses the whiskey community to raise funds and awareness for veteran causes while championing mental health resources and responsible drinking initiatives in the military community.

Proceeds from this release directly support the Foundation's mission: building community among active duty service members, reservists, veterans, and their families; reducing the stigma around mental health in military communities; and funding programs that serve those who have served.

This Aberlour spent 9 years in ex-bourbon before being transferred into a 1st fill Ximénez-Spínola Pedro Ximénez sherry cask for a 2 year finish. So far, straightforward. But the cask tells a different story.

The barrel is stamped Pedro Ximénez. The cask end is tagged Oloroso. Ximénez-Spínola is a small, iconoclastic bodega in Jerez that has never been bound by convention. We believe this cask held a dry, Oloroso-style sherry made entirely from PX grapes. No sun-drying. No residual sweetness. The PX grapes were fermented dry like a fino or Oloroso, then aged under oxidative conditions. The result is a cask with the nutty, savoury depth of Oloroso and the grape richness of PX in a combination that almost nobody produces.

When we saw this oddity sitting in a warehouse in Scotland, we knew immediately. You do not pass on a cask like this. Distilled December 2014. Bottled April 2026. Single cask. Cask strength at 57.7%. Non-chill filtered. Natural colour.
