Michter's US*1 Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Rye is a limited-release, single-barrel whiskey that offers a powerful, undiluted expression of the distillery’s signature rye profile. While the standard single-barrel rye is proofed down, this version is bottled at its natural cask strength, typically ranging between 107 and 115 proof. It is crafted using a "Kentucky-style" rye mash bill that features a significant amount of corn and malted barley alongside the primary rye grain, resulting in a balanced whiskey that marries spicy characteristics with a rich, bourbon-like sweetness.

The production utilizes Michter’s signature techniques, including a low barrel entry proof of 103 and 18-month air-dried wood staves that have been both toasted and charred. On the nose, it consistently presents a bold bouquet of butterscotch, cinnamon, and cherries. The palate is characterized by a viscous, oily mouthfeel with rich layers of toasty vanilla, caramel, and honey, leading into a long finish defined by dry oaky spice, black pepper, and subtle citrus notes. As a single-barrel product, each bottling offers slight variations in proof and intensity, but it is universally recognized for its depth and sophisticated balance.
