La Gritona Reposado Tequila is an artisanal spirit crafted by Melly Barajas at her small distillery (NOM 1533) in Valle de Guadalupe, nestled in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Made with care and tradition, every step honors authentic tequila-making methods.
The team begins with perfectly ripened agave plants, slow-cooked in brick ovens and naturally fermented with ambient yeasts before being double-distilled in small pot stills. The tequila is then rested for 8 months in reused American oak barrels, allowing its character to deepen and mature.
The result is a complex, brooding reposado with layered notes of caramelized fruit, ginger, and pepper — a true reflection of craftsmanship, patience, and the spirit of Jalisco.
